Introducing the Summer Academy: an exciting, enriching opportunity for kids to learn, grow, and have fun over the summer! Our Academy will be a fully-licensed childcare program and offer two flexible sessions packed with hands-on activities, creative projects, and engaging lessons—perfect for keeping young minds active and curious. With options for morning and/or afternoon participation, you can build a schedule that works for your family while giving your children an unforgettable summer experience. From arts and science to faith and exploration, the Summer Academy is all about fun and learning in a vibrant community setting. Eligibility:

The academy will be open to students in grades PreK-6th grade for the 2025-2026 school year. The minimum age is 3 by May 1, 2025, and students must be potty-trained. The academy is open to all. Priority will be given to St. John Paul II and Faith Formation students of our pastorate.

Sessions:

The academy would be split into two 6-week sessions with options for mornings, afternoons, or both: Session 1 May 27-July 3 and Session 2 July 7-Aug 8 from 7:30 to 5:30. The mornings will be focused on fun educational activities, and the afternoons will feature outings to the various summer activities our community offers, with of course, our faith being front and center all day.

Cost:

General cost will be $1,050 per session for half days or $2,100 per session for whole days. St. JPII students will receive a discounted price of $800 per session for half days and $1,600 for whole days. Lunch will be provided via the summer lunch program for full day attendees. 

Commitment & Deposit:

To reserve your spot, please fill out the online commitment form and a $250 deposit per child. Deposits can be submitted via check written to St. John Paul II, 1510 W. Elm, Mitchell, SD 57301. You will be contacted for additional registration information after this form is submitted.
